Born and raised in London, UK, Maya is currently studying BA (Hons) Illustration Animation at Kingston School of Art in London, previously having gained her Level 3 Visual Art and Design Extended Diploma BTEC at the BRIT School.

Maya is also the founder of the London music, fashion and identity zine Pinz & Needlez, whose first volume is soon to be released.

As a creator, she has been constantly influenced by art, drama, music, film and books, and aims to explore the relationship between those art forms to visual art.

Music has been a fascination of hers since an early age and is one of her main inspirations in day to day - you can often find her in the crowd at some kind of gig, arena to 100 person capacity basement room, or browsing the local record store to add to their never ending record collection.

Maya is primarily interested in working within music, however I am open and up to exploring different avenues! I have experience working for clothing companies, book publishers, art galleries and musicians.
